Sure, we expect the majority of players to behave themselves, but for the tiny minority who would abuse the system Blizzard would have to employ a team of moderators to resolve disputes and there would be a code of conduct and it would just be a lot of work for something that, from their perspective offers no upside. I know other games like that don’t let the players talk to each other directly because it’s the easiest way to make sure nobody does anything inappropriate. I think they don’t have a chat box because they want their game to be kid-friendly. No company should block freedom of speech like Blizzard done with this game… there should always be a chat box when you’re playing versus another human being.

It’s like going to play MTG on a table top and instantly putting tape over their mouth. I don’t feel doing that is proper, only when they spam. In order to make communication more efficient and to avoid unnecessary ambiguity in communication, a universal set of expressions has been compiled. Expressing oneself properly takes practice and even with practice, it is easy for others to misinterpret meanings. It’s similar to an emoji or emoticon, but it incorporates characters from the katakana alphabet, instead of underscores and carets, for a wider range of expression. Effective communication is universally one of the hardest skills to master. Lots of people squelch the other player before it even starts. The shruggie or smugshrug, as it is sometimes called, is what’s known as a kaomoji, or face mark in Japanese. You will never know what the other person is actually thinking or trying to express. From experience it’s hard not to get mad when you loose and think they’re bming you, even till this day it hard for me. In certain situations it’s easy to tell what the person is doing, like at the start and end of the game, ‘greetings’ or 'well played. One time I said thank you to another player because I was enjoying the game and I think it made them mad because they started spamming Thanks after every single turn, and on the last turn instead of using fireball to kill me (I had been at five health for a couple turns) they played a bunch of other cards, waited a bit, and then used the fireball that they had been holding for like three turns, and said thank you as I died, lol. I dunno, maybe I’m just giving him more credit because I like him. I think maybe instead of “hello” it means “goodbye” in this context, which kind of makes sense since there is no goodbye emote. But then I saw a streamer I like use the emote right before hitting lethal and it didn’t seem like he meant it in a mean way. I found this annoying because a lot of the time I felt like when they said this that the match wasn’t really over and they shouldn’t start gloating just yet. I thought at first that they were trying to let me know that they think I should concede since they would often use it right before a really good play, like troublemaker or libram of hope. For instance, the “oops” emote is obvious, they’re trying to let me know that I made a mistake so I can get better, or they’re lamenting a particularly bad play that they just had.īut sometimes they’ll say “hello” in the middle of the match. I’ve been playing recently and sometimes my opponents will use emotes and I can’t tell what they’re trying to tell me. There should be no Heckler's Veto over emotes that many find fun.Hi y’all. SSG has implemented the "Serious Business" debuff ( ) in some places where it's particularly disruptive, but as a general rule, people will do what people do, and there's no point in trying to scale back the effect of the emotes, since that devalues them. You ignore them, or you stop going to gatherings where such people are present.

This was posted in the update notes under known issues, SE are working on the problem Shiva.Cybermario. The trials are really easy, just need to hand in one item.

IRL, some people at gatherings are loud, boorish, rude. To get the new job emotes, its simply a magian trial that gives you a level 30 JSE neck with semi-decent stats for the level. I tend to agree this is a social problem, not a programming issue from the SSG side.

I haven't even seen something like that offered, but it reminds me of something like the phial of Galadriel, maybe? Do they have an item or emote like that?Įither way, I hope they keep adding toys and gizmos because I think they are fun. Is this really a problem there? I have not even seen that emote on Landroval at all. You can just get what you need done done then leave the area. Was it that it was blocking your view of the mount?

People scream and run around all over the place, especially during festivals, using skills, doing emotes, whatever. To be honest, I don't know why it should bother you if a guy is standing over by the vendors screaming and shining a bright light.
